Prentiss takes down a Pick-Up Artist.
Arguably the best moment in Criminal Minds.

Today, as the Occupy Wall Street organized May Day protests are happening, President Obama has pointedly declared May 1st as “Loyalty Day.”
On this day, let us reaffirm our allegiance to the United States of America, our Constitution, and our founding values.
I knew there was a reason Obama hasn’t hardly said a single fucking word about the Occupy movement.
The Gamma Ray lyric “the antichrist is back again, disguised as the savior of man” literally came on as I started to read this proclamation. Very appropriate.
“The 10 Most Harmful Novels for Aspiring Writers”
Let’s ignore for the moment that this guy, Crawford Kilian, equates Atlas Shrugged with actual literature (that is another problem in and of itself). Besides that prominent flaw, this article is basically just Kilian whining and deluding himself that there is such a thing as completely original literature. NEWSFLASH: There isn’t. Perhaps Kilian thinks scientists come up with revolutionary ideas without ever studying the work of other scientists, too. How could people become inspired to write in the first place if they didn’t read the likes of the Brontë sisters, Hemingway, and Tolkien?
When I first started writing in middle school, I definitely imitated what I had read, BECAUSE I WAS TWELVE. But that’s how it started: I loved certain books, and discovered a desire to write. Even as I progressed through high school, I still largely imitated J.R.R. Tolkien and Robert Jordan, but DUH that is high school, that is growing up. When I finally find myself as a writer, even though I may develop some original ideas, I will still be in some way imitating all the writers I idolize. Even if I didn’t, I would still be imitating history or culture in some way - that’s how literature/art/everything in human culture works.
The most annoying part of this article is that Kilian is essentially equating plagiarism with imitation. Plagiarism is wrong yeah, but Kilian doesn’t metion the hella plagiarized works of Christopher Paolini and Terry Brooks, he just whines about entire genres.
When I stopped plagiarizing Hemingway, I plagiarized Tolkien. It wasn’t the old master’s fault, and I got over it. But thousands of others created a literary Mordor: mass-market industrial fantasy, where the orcs, elves and dwarves march past like the North Korean army.
So, Kilian doesn’t want you to read Tolkien and be inspired because he doesn’t like the subsequent genre.
Dude. Get over yourself.

They really have to be pokemon.

About this blog: “Quotes from Star Trek’s Lt. Commander Data juxtaposed against photographs of Mitt Romney designed to create what humans call ‘laughter’.”
Yes. I approve.
I DO NOT approve. Mitt Romney does not deserve to be compared to Lt. Commander Data, a sentient being who is far more consistent and moral in his decisions and actions.
How could I resist
This was probably the best episode
